Description: The Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) is sponsoring a 2-day (23 and 24 March 2002) mini-conference to emphasize the importance of water in the social, economic, public health, agricultural, industrial, urban and rural development of the West Bank and Gaza. The conference will include papers and presentations by PNA representatives, noted experts, donors, NGOs, projects, academicians, and service providers. In addition, PWA will initiate a public awareness campaign to spread the Water for Development message to local schools and throughout the government. Commemorative posters, brochures, pens and mugs will be distributed. Both international and local media will expose the general public to the World Water Day in Palestine.
